Craft company Fab Dab Do teams with Thelwell

Children’s arts and crafts company, Fab Dab Do has teamed with the Thelwell brand on a new pony t-shirt painting craft kit.

The company is celebrating the ‘wit and artistry’ of Norman Thelwell in the cartoonist’s centenary year, using stencils and paint to breathe life into his characters onto t-shirts and introduce his humour to a new generation.

Inside the Thelwell pony painting craft kit, crafters will find a t-shirt, four stencils, four fabric paint dabbers, a black fabric pen and stencil tape, a Thelwell Designer’s Notebook full of drawing tips and inspiration, plus a QR code for short film clips with instructions to get dabbing straight away.

“We are thrilled to work with The Thelwell Estate as our first ever collaboration and to offer children a chance to design and paint their own Thelwell-inspired t-shirts,” commented Amanda Litster, founder of Fab Dab Do. “The sense of fun and creativity is relevant to both of our brands, and at our Thelwell event workshops, we’ve witnessed children excited to create a personal and lasting picture, often with the pony’s name underneath the design. I love that children of all ages and abilities gain a real sense of achievement from our kits. Make it, wear it and show the world your forever love for Thelwell.”

Karen Addison, licensing agent for the Thelwell Estate, continued: “I am delighted that with this creative product, Thelwell’s illustrations and humour are introduced to a new generation and also to the generation who grew up with his cartoons of cheeky ponies. Norman was known to be a keen environmentalist and it is aligned with his values that Fab Dab Do products minimise waste, are made in the UK and are intended to be re-used time and time again. His wit and artistry is palpable with each fun stencil design.”
