British Phonographic Industry appoints CPLG as worldwide licensing agent (excl. US).
CPLG is continuing to grow the brand and lifestyle side of its business, with Parental Advisory being the latest brand to join its portfolio.
CPLG has been appointed by the British Phonographic Industry as the worldwide licensing agency (excluding North America) for the brand.
The Parental Advisory logo is one of the most recognisable and iconic images in the music industry. It has been used across many genres of music for decades, on some of the most famous records of all time.
The core function of the logo is to help consumers make informed choices about music and music videos that may contain explicit lyrics or images.
In recent years, the Parental Advisory logo has developed a secondary use as a rebellious, edgy and fashionable statement. It has struck a chord with consumers and across high end and high street brands, who have gaining significant traction on their Parental Advisory ranges – from Alexander Wang to Urban Outfitters, H&M and Primark.
The likes of Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Jourdan Dunn, Rihanna and Beyoncé have been seen sporting the logo.
Maarten Weck, md Northern Europe (UK, Benelux, Nordic & CEE), commented: “Parental Advisory brings with it a very strong heritage and the ability to remain current throughout the decades. This is the reason that it resonates so closely with today’s consumers and gains such a positive reaction from fashion forward retailers.
“We are very much looking forward to working with such a contemporary and successful brand.”
A spokesperson for the BPI added: “We are very proud of our hugely recognisable, relatable brand and we’re delighted to be partnering with CPLG – using their experience and contacts to expand the reach and range of Parental Advisory ever further.”
