“Connecting in person has taken SILC to a whole new level”

This year’s Sustainability in Licensing Conference has been hailed a major success, with event director and founder of Products of Change, Helena Mansell-Stopher telling LicensingSource.net that the reaction to yesterday’s event “totally blew me away”.

Delegates at the physical event (18 October) – which was held at the Royal Geographical Society – joined many more on the digital platform to hear perspectives and learnings from retailers, manufacturers, economists, licensing professionals and thought leaders.

These included executives from retailers such as Primark, George @ Asda, Tesco and Walgreens Boots Alliance, as well as representatives from toy companies including Mattel and LEGO, plus statistics from The Insights Family and Retail Economics among the packed schedule.

The day ended with a networking soiree, sponsored by Brand Licensing Europe.

“Connecting in person has taken SILC to a whole new level; yesterday totally blew me away,” commented Helena. “The energy, passion and empathy in the room was electric with people connecting, swapping contact details and openly sharing their sustainability journey.

“What yesterday highlighted more than ever is the desire to learn and the openness to share, both physically and digitally with hundreds connecting across the digital platform. Friendships that were formed yesterday will be the foundation of the industry’s sustainable transformation… how cool is that?”

SILC is due to return to the Royal Geographical Society in 2023, taking place on Wednesday 8 November.
