Wolsey – one of the oldest clothing brands in the world, established in 1755 – has been granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty The King.
The prestigious achievement recognises the ongoing work, focus and commitment the business has across a wide range of criteria, including quality, sustainability and environmental responsibility.
The granting of the Royal Warrant by His Majesty the King means that Wolsey continues its tradition and honour of holding Royal Warrants since 1935, when his Majesty King George V granted Wolsey its first Royal Warrant, Wolsey then received a Warrant from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, and the company then received a further Warrant in 1959 granted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.
“We are greatly honoured to have received this Royal Warrant from His Majesty the King, and it is something that everyone at Wolsey is extremely proud of,” commented Jason Hargreaves, ceo at Wolsey. “At Wolsey, we continuously strive to reach the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship in everything we do, and this Warrant recognises our commitment and ongoing efforts.”
Wolsey’s Grantee of the Royal Warrant, Damian Hopkins CBE, added: “This is an incredibly proud moment in Wolsey’s long history, we are overjoyed that our longstanding relationship with The Royal Household continues with this recognition from His Majesty The King.”
