Toy and collectables distributor signs Nickelodeon as first partner in new categories.
Click Distribution is expanding its business to cover the fashion accessories and jewellery categories – and has signed Nickelodeon as its first partner.
The company has built up a successful toy and collectables distribution business since it was established in 2009. It also has experience of distributing licensed accessories for properties including Frozen, Despicable Me and Shopkins.
Nickelodeon has become the first licensor to appoint Click to develop a line of accessories for PAW Patrol and Shimmer & Shine in the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands, which Click will also distribute to retail partners.
Products will include hair accessories, jewellery, gift sets and key chains and will launch May 2017. Click is also in advanced talks with other licensors and further licensing agreements are expected to be announced shortly.
The move into design and manufacturing has been supported by a brace of new hires.
Yan Chan has been appointed as general manager, Far East manufacturing and sourcing. Based in Hong Kong, Yan will be responsible for overseeing all of the company’s manufacturing operations in China.
In addition, Diane McSweeney has been appointed as head of product design. She arrives from Icon Live where she was responsible for designing its licensed accessories and jewellery.
“It is an incredibly exciting time for the business,” said Mark Hillier, ceo at Click Distribution (UK). “As a distributor of accessories for many years we noticed that the departure of several companies in this space had created a gap in the market for a high quality manufacturer of jewellery and accessories.
“We strongly believe that we have the passion and contacts to harness this opportunity and make it a success.”
Mark continued: “The expansion will transform Click into a full service one stop shop that manages the product lifecycle from design and concept right through to manufacture and getting product on shelf.
“Signing PAW Patrol and Shimmer and Shine at such an early stage is a demonstration of confidence and we look forward to working with Nickelodeon on this exciting new venture.”
