Cleo & Cuquin adds Toy Plus as master toy partner

Plush, figurines and play-sets on the way for preschool show in 2020.

Anima Spain is building up the licensing programme in support of its preschool series, Cleo & Cuquin, bringing Toy Plus on board as the master toy partner.

Toy Plus’ first line will focus on plush, figurines and play-sets and will launch in late 2020.

“We’re excited to partner with Toy Plus, we are assured that they will do a wonderful job creating toys that will inspire curiosity, creativity, promote play and bring more fun to kids,” said Angel Molinero, ceo of Anima Spain. “We can’t wait to see our new products hitting the shelves around the world next year.”

Josue Rosenzweig, president of Toy Plus, added: “We are very happy with this new strategic partnership and to be able to count on our portfolio with a property like Cleo & Cuquin, which has incredible coverage on YouTube. We are sure that the toy line we will develop will be very successful.”

Cleo & Cuquin stars the Telerin family with a focus on big sister Cleo and the baby of the family, Cuquin. Since its premiere in 2018, the first season has been met with success with audiences in Mexico and Spain. It is also broadcast throughout Latin America and Brazil, as well as Russia (Carousel), Canada (Treehouse), Portugal (Panda) and Greece (Star). A number of new channels are due to be added in the coming months.

In addition, Cleo & Cuquin has established itself as one of the fastest growing preschool channels on YouTube. It has more than five million subscribers with its Spanish channel being the most successful, while it also has channels in English, Portuguese and Russian.

New educational formats and a Cuquin spin-off have been added to the initial content based on nursery rhymes.
