Clarks steps back to the Eighties with exclusive Stranger Things collaboration

Clarks has teamed with Netflix and Stranger Things for the launch of a new 80s-inspired collection, encouraging kids to ‘unleash their inner power’.

The new brand collaboration sees Clarks delve into its archive and recreated some of its most iconic silhouettes.

The resulting two collections – Varsity and Icons – means that wearers can now experience ‘true retro profiles’ that celebrate individuality and self-expression, presented in a Stranger Things themed box.

The Varsity collection aims to celebrate Hawkins High School’s team spirit, with the Torhill icon and retro sneakers taking on an 80s nostalgia with green and orange Hawkins team colours and varsity detail. There are also Stranger Things embossed stamps and fobs, plus alternative triple black editions inspired by the Upside Down.

Meanwhile, the Icons collection sees the classic Wallabee, Desert Boot and Desert Trek paying homage to the Hellfire club. Featuring two unique designs across each profile, kids can embrace their inner power in Hawkins world or flip their style with alternative profiles that take on the twisted mystery of the Upside Down.

Each profile features Stranger Things-inspired detail on sand suede uppers, including embroidered and screen-printed Hellfire and Hawkins High logos, premium crepe soles, and Clarks Originals and Stranger Things-themed fobs.

The collaboration was launched with a special event at Clarks’ Westfield White City store (12-14 July) which saw competitions running throughout the weekend to win prizes including tickets to the Stranger Things: The First Shadow theatre show.

“We’re very excited to team up with Netflix to create a Clarks x Stranger Things product line for kids,” commented Tara McRae, global chief marketing and digital officer at Clarks. “We were drawn to this series, not only because of its massive popularity around the world, but due to the creative expression we could bring to our amazing new kids range. We’ve loved being inspired by the show’s rich characters and mysterious storylines. We are eager to launch this line of shoes just in time for kids to gear up to go back to school for some new adventures of their own.”
