Perfetti van Melle will be a first time exhibitor at this month’s show in Tokyo.
Confectionery manufacturer Perfetti van Melle is to showcase three of its brands – including Chupa Chups – at this month’s Licensing Expo Japan.
The company will be a first time exhibitor at the event – which takes place in Tokyo from April 25-27. As well as Chupa Chups, it will be showcasing Frisk and Mentos.
Chupa Chups boasts a strong licensing programme in Japan. Working with Sanrio Far East, partners include SEGA, Uniqlo, Takara Tomy, Casio and Bandai among others.
More recently, Frisk has started a premium licensing programme, while the Mentos brand will make its Licensing Expo Japan debut this year, with a style guide inspired by the pastel colours of the fruit flavours.
Christine Cool, area licensing manager at Perfetti van Melle, explained: “We are very much looking forward to being a strategic part of Expo Japan. This market has been one of our most relevant licensing markets for many years now.
“It still has a lot of untapped potential and we believe this is an excellent platform to meet new partners who wish to create novelty products inspired by our sweet and fresh brands.”
