Character Exchange: Hollywood dreams

The Source walked the red carpet at last week’s event to ‘pap’ some industry celebs.

Seen as something as a ‘red carpet’ event, the recent Character Exchange ‘blockbuster’ gathering to mark the end of 2017 brought together many of the sector’s ‘A list’ leading ladies and gentleman.

The Source went ‘papping’ asking these industry ‘celebs’ to reveal a fave film and, if a movie was to be made about the UK licensing industry, which actor or character would be best cast to play them.

Rob Corney, managing director of Bulldog Licensing:

Fave film: “Good Will Hunting – a vote for adversity”
Casting vote: “God… I didn’t mean to say that! I would be happy with John Malkovich.”

Trevor Jones, chairman of the Character Exchange:

Fave film: “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.”
Casting vote: “Michael Fassbender.”

Ian Hyder, joint managing director of Max Publishing:

Fave film: “The new Star Wars is my new fave – incredible and something for every generation. What the movies should be about.”
Casting vote: “Happy to play myself if you could arrange Gal Gadot to play the biggest advertiser in the trade so I would have to have lots of meetings with her. If that’s not possible I guess Donald Duck would be great as I do have an almost award winning impersonation (I was robbed of victory at a caravan park talent competition when I was on holiday as a kid).”

Casting vote: “Damian Lewis.”

Jade Kellman, licensing manager of Sanrio:

Fave film: “Misery – I am cheery really!”
