Cath Kidston reveals 101 Dalmatians range

Third instalment in collaboration with Disney will launch from May 26.

Cath Kidston has revealed that the third instalment in its collaboration with Disney will focus on 101 Dalmatians.

The Disney x Cath Kidston 101 Dalmatians collection will see Pongo, Perdita and their puppies featured within five brand new Cath Kidston prints, incorporating artwork elements taken from some of the brand’s signature designs including Button Spot and Townhouses.

The 101 Dalmatians prints will be available on products across all of Cath Kidston’s categories: bags and accessories, homeware, kids and fashion from May 26.

Cath Kidston’s print design team has once again delved into the Disney archives to source the original character illustrations to inspire the designs.

To create the Townhouse Dogs, Cath Kidston’s print design team reworked archive sketches of Notting Hill townhouses in soft monochrome shades, adding in original illustrations taken from the 1960’s 101 Dalmatians animation, showing dogs and their amusingly similar human counterparts.

To complete the design, a colourful flourish of bold pink roses were added.

Meanwhile, Dalmatian Spot celebrates the beauty of dalmatians, showing a reinvention of Cath Kidston’s classic spot to reflect the natural markings of the breed. Disney’s own canine characters also play a starring role in the print, with fine illustrations of Pongo, Perdita and their pups appearing throughout.

Sue Chidler, Cath Kidston’s marketing director, said: “We are thrilled to announce the next chapter in our partnership with Disney and introduce the 101 Dalmatians collection.

“Once again, we have thoroughly enjoyed marrying up our classic print designs with Disney’s original illustrations and we think that the result of this embodies our brand’s fun personality perfectly.

“There’s a natural synergy between Cath Kidston and 101 Dalmatians; we share the same hometown, with our stories both starting in London. We also know that our customers have a real affinity with dogs so we are hoping they will enjoy collecting and treasuring this range.”

The full collection of products in the range will be revealed later on this year.
