Cartoon Network unveils Adventure Time VR offering

Mobile game and bespoke branded viewer will launch in UK & Nordics on September 29.

Cartoon Network is to launch a new virtual reality mobile game and bespoke branded viewer based on the hit Adventure Time brand.

Called I See Ooo, the new offering marks the first VR experience for fans to come complete with a specially-designed viewer to play it through.

It will launch in the UK and Nordics on September 29.

Launching as a Google Play TM exclusive promotion, I See Ooo will enable players to immerse themselves in an original story and take on the challenge of three different games, each with 20 levels and varying degrees of difficulty.

The Jake the Dog-branded viewer will offer an optimised experience for this, as well as other VR mobile games.

Johanne Broadfield, vp, Cartoon Network Enterprises, Turner EMEA, said: “I can’t think of a more perfect show to highlight this exciting new technology than the quirky and unpredictable Adventure Time.

“Its licensing potential and social currency gives us so much scope when creating new ways for fans to play and interact with the brand – and, in this instance, we have an amazing, one-of-a-kind offering that not only allows kids to try out virtual reality gaming, but also gives them the chance to become Jake the Dog with a fully customised VR viewer.”

The I See Ooo virtual reality viewer and mobile game (in the form of a unique download code inside each box) will be available at Forbidden Planet and pyramidshop.com from September 29 for £24.99.

Developed by UK-based VR specialist Opposable, the experience includes two games: Glider Flight and Snowball Fight, plus a third game, Puzzle Path, which will made available as a free downloadable content pack shortly after launch.
