Carte Blanche partners with Southampton Solent University

Students given chance to learn more about working in greeting cards industry and what it can offer.

Carte Blanche Greetings has partnered with Southampton Solent University.

The partnership has seen the company offer first, second and third year illustration students an opportunity to learn more about working within the greeting cards industry, and what it can offer artists, illustrators and designers.

Students were given a brief to create a traditional greetings card design for spring 2021.

The design will form part of Carte Blanche Greetings, Wishing Well Studios branded offer with the first place winner seeing their card published. The winner will also receive £200 worth of Amazon vouchers and the chance to join the illustrators and designers at Carte Balance in its West Sussex studio for some work experience.

Carte Blanche is also offering prizes of Amazon Vouchers and published designs for second and third place winners.

“The greetings card industry is a real hotbed for creative talent and the UK has a fantastic culture of giving and receiving cards, with it still being a 1.7 billion a year industry,” explained Grace Elphinstone, marketing manager at Carte Blanche. “18-34-year olds buy more cards than any other generation which is a positive trend for the future.

“It’s fantastic to work with local education providers to give their students an opportunity to learn more about our company and brands and to provide opportunities for talented people to develop an interest and career within the flourishing greetings card industry.”
