CAA picks up Jazwares’ Squishmallows brand

The entertainment and sports agency will be looking to grow the brand across an array of areas.

Creative Artists Agency has signed up Jazwares’ Squishmallows brand with the aim to grow it across an array of categories.

Since its launch in 2017, Squishmallows has grown from eight characters to more than 1,000, each with their own unique name and storyline. With over 86 million sold in 40 countries worldwide, Squishmallows has also become a social media hit, with more than 650,000 combined followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, plus three billion TikTok video views on #squishmallows tagged content.

CAA will be looking to identify and create opportunities for Squishmallows across areas including film, TV, video games, publishing and live touring among others.

“The Squishmallows brand is at this incredible stage, experiencing tremendous growth and increasing popularity over the past year,” said Michael Rinzler, evp and partner at Jazwares. “Now is the perfect time to join forces with CAA, the best partners in the industry, to fully take advantage of the momentum behind the brand and create significant content and entertainment experiences for our brand fans.”

Prior to signing on with CAA, Jazwares expanded the world of Squishmallows with the June 2021 launch of the YouTube animated series, Squishville. Produced by Moonbug Entertainment, new episodes of Squishville will release every Saturday through October 2021. The series is based on the line of Squishmallows-inspired collectable play-sets and accessories.
