BWI picks up preschool animation Wissper

Studio100 Media and m4e appoint Brands with Influence as UK licensing agent for property.

Brands with Influence has added to its preschool portfolio, with Studio100 Media and m4e appointing the agency to handle the UK licensing for Wissper.

The animation – which first aired in 2015 and follows the adventures of animal whisperer, Wissper, and her penguin friend, Peggy – is returning on Milkshake this autumn for season two.

Brands With Influence will initially be working with existing licensees to maximise the reach through retail.

Master toy partner Simba is gearing up for a spring 2019 launch, with Bioworld (daywear), C&M Licensing (nightwear and underwear) and Amscan (partywear) all launching ranges in 2019.

Other key categories being targeted are publishing, stationery, bags, homewares, dress-up, arts and craft and confectionery.

“Appointing a UK licensing agent is just another piece of the puzzle in order to make Wissper the preschool brand of choice in the UK,” said Peter Kleinschmidt, international commercial director at Studio 100 Media and m4e.

“BWI demonstrated such a strong understanding for the brand and with their pedigree, made their appointment an easy decision. They are already working hard to co-ordinate plans with existing licensees and formulating plans for 2019 and beyond.”

Dom Wheeler, director at Brands With Influence, added: “We are delighted to have been appointed as the UK licensing agent for Wissper and see great potential for the brand in the UK.

“The first season made a real splash on Milkshake! in 2015 and with the new season 2 confirmed for an autumn 2018 release, we know fans will be engaged with the great storytelling and beautiful animation.”
