New products roll out from Tuiss Décor, Joyye and She’s across key categories.
The V&A is continuing to expand its licensing business across China and Japan.
After a strong reaction to the V&A’s debut with Blinds 2Go in the UK, there is a further launch this summer with Tuiss Décor Japan.
Inspired by the V&A’s extensive collection of wallpapers and textiles by William Morris, the new range is a contemporary adaptation of the original designs. The collection of made-to-measure blinds and curtains feature eight patterns with a stylish and contemporary series of colourways.
Meanwhile, new licensee Joyye has launched a series of Alice in Wonderland inspired ceramics (pictured), blending traditional Chinese craft techniques in a unique and innovative way.
The tableware range features many recognisable characters and quirky motifs from the book, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by storyteller Lewis Carroll. Inspired by the V&A’s treasures, the new collection includes idiosyncratic teacups, teapots, plates, a cake stand and a flower vase – everything needed to recreate a mad tea party, in fact.
Another inaugural collection in China this summer was with accessories licensee She’s. A nine-piece range will include delicate earrings, hairclips, a hairband, necklace, bracelet and brooch, all based on the Art Nouveau designs of Alphonse Mucha from the V&A archives.
The artistic pieces are crafted in gold plate and adorned with hand-applied enamel.
