British Library reveals new stationery range

Designs inspired by Alice in Wonderland and authors such as Einstein and Hemingway.

The British Library is to launch a new collection of giftable stationery and accessories.

Developed by its in-house buying team together with selected design partners, designs have been inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the classic library card, authors such as Thomas Jefferson and Ernest Hemingway, plus the famous building itself.

The Bookseller reported that merchandise will include notebooks, socks, coasters and tote bags featuring a nostalgic design of a traditional stamped library card.

There will also be a collection celebrating the Bloomsbury Group – illustrated by design studio, LucyLovesThis – plus stationery featuring quotes from authors such as Albert Einstein, Thomas Jefferson and Ernest Hemingway.

A special Alice in Wonderland collection of accessories and homeware will feature hand-srawn motifs inspired by the character’s adventures, designed exclusively for the British Library by illustrator Lucy Depardieu.

There will also be a range celebrating the British Library’s Grade I listed status, The Bookseller continued.
