Born Licensing scoops LIMA International Award

Masters of the Universe and Dirty Dancing campaign flies the flag for UK at annual awards.

Born Licensing was one of the big winners at last night’s LIMA 2018 International Licensing Awards – flying the flag for the UK by walking away with the Licensed Promotion category.

The company was honoured for the popular Masters of the Universe and Dirty Dancing ad spot, which is part of the Epic Skeletor campaign for Moneysupermarket.com.

A delighted David Born, md of Born Licensing, collected the accolade from LIMA president Charles Riotto.

Other big property winners on the night included L.O.L Surprise from MGA, which picked up Character and Toy Brand; Rick and Morty from Cartoon Network, which was awarded Film/Television/Entertainment – Animated; WWE for Sports; JoJo Siwa for Film/Television/Entertainment – Live Action; emoji for Digital; and Guinness for Food and Beverage – Restaurant.

Meanwhile, on the product side, the Crayola Insta-Dry nail colour collection from Sally Hansen picked up Health & Beauty Aids, as well as being awarded the first ever LIMA Community Choice Award.

In addition to the awards presentation, Elias Fasja-Cohen, ceo and founder of Tycoon Enterprises, and Brian Goldner, chairman and ceo of Hasbro were honoured as the latest inductees into the LIMA Licensing Industry Hall of Fame for their lifetime of achievements.
