Black Friday shopping hot spots revealed

Central London shoppers were the most prolific according to data from Royal Mail.

Royal Mail has unveiled the top ten areas where shoppers made the most online purchases during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Consumers in central London were the most prolific, followed by Scottish shoppers, reported Fashion United.

The top ten shopping hot spots are based on an analysis of parcels accepted into the Royal Mail network between November 26 and December 3 and weighted against the number of delivery points.

“We have looked at parcel delivery data across our network of delivery offices and this has revealed that Central London is the UK’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday online shopping hot spot for 2019,” said a spokesperson for Royal Mail. “We take the planning for the festive period very seriously and start preparing for the next year the moment the current one is over.”

The top ten shopping hot spots were:

  • Central London
  • Kirkwall
  • Lerwick, Shetland
  • Llandrindod Wells
  • Inverness
  • Dumfries
  • Carlisle
  • North West London
  • Shrewsbury
  • Galashiels (Scottish border)
