BHS to launch kids’ character clothing line

Collection of licensed products will arrive on November 11 from rejuvenated retailer.

Having re-opened online in September, the rejuvenated BHS is now set to add a children’s licensed character apparel range next month.

The news comes as the retailer begins the roll out of its first clothing range, starting with a number of popular menswear and womenswear items.

A children’s collection – featuring a range of licensed character products – will then launch on November 11.

While there’s currently no confirmation on which licences will be included in BHS’ new offering, it is likely it will initially stick to big name brands and former strong sellers, following the model it has applied so far in other categories.

Sara Bradley, buying director at BHS, explained: “The collection is very tight, but we will be adding collections regularly to expand the offer including children’s character products and women’s day to evening party wear in autumn/winter.”

Since relaunching at the end of September, BHS.com has quickly rolled out more lines to build momentum in the UK retail market.

It launched its second Christmas range, following the successful roll out of the first wave, on October 20. On October 18 it introduced its kitchen and dining ranges, featuring electricals, crockery, bakeware, kitchen utensils, glassware and cookware.
