Limited edition collection of graphic pieces from Opening Ceremony released on Farfetch platform.
New York-based hip hop group, Beastie Boys are marking the 26-year anniversary of the Ill Communication album with a new collaboration with Opening Ceremony.
A limited edition collection of graphic pieces will launch on luxury retail platform, Farfetch. It was created in line with the arrival of new documentary, Beastie Boys Story on AppleTV+, reported Fashion United.
Opening Ceremony has teamed Beastie Boys’ classic album covers with those of other artists, with items including tees, hoodies and a boiler suit.
Artists including Kim Gordon, Raymond Pettibon, Bill McMullen, Geoff McFertride and Nejc Prah selected their favourite Beastie Boys records and created new covers around them for the collaboration.
“We proposed the idea of taking their classic albums and singles, pairing them with relevant artists, and creating new versions of the album covers,” said Humberto Leon, co-founder and creative director of Opening Ceremony. “They each created new works based on albums they love.”
