BBF rolls out new Rolo celebration cake

Cake and dessert manufacturer continues relationship with Nestlé Professional with new launch.

Ambient cake and dessert manufacturer, BBF is continuing its partnership with Nestlé Professional with the launch of a new Rolo celebration cake.

Arriving this month in key retailers – including 380 Tesco stores and more than 300 Morrisons stores – the celebration cake follows on from the Rolo cupcakes, which launched at the end of 2019.

Ready for the good bit? Well… the chocolate cake is smothered in chocolate frosting and decorated with milk chocolate microdots. It is topped with mini Rolos, as well as a caramel drizzle and, when cut, the hidden centre of gooey caramel is revealed.

“Despite the challenges of the last few months, our NPD team has been working hard to ensure our product offering remains firmly at the forefront of the industry as we respond to the growing trend for indulgent treats to help celebrate life’s milestones,” commented Jonathan Lill, ceo of BBF. “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do here at BBF. We’re always looking for new trends, techniques and ideas that can be scaled up within our five bakery sites. We aim to delight consumers with delicious products at affordable prices.”

In addition to its Nestlé Professional partnership, BBF has also worked with licences including Chupa Chups, Swizzels, PJ Masks, Boofle and Little Mix.

Jonathan added: “Our last Nestlé Professional collaboration was a resounding success and we’re expecting the Rolo celebration cake to quickly become one of our most popular bakes.”

Rob Macklin, branded confectionery ingredient category lead at Nestlé Professional, commented: “The team at BBF consistently puts innovation front of mind, continuously responding to the latest industry trends to affirm its place as a market leading baker.

“We’re delighted to be collaborating again on another exquisite cake, which has already proven to be a hit among retailers, and we’re expecting consumers to snap up.”
