BBC’s Countryfile makes live events move

First ever Countryfile Live will take place at Blenheim Palace in August.

The BBC is moving the Countryfile brand into the live events space for the first time – with the dates for the inaugural Countryfile Live set for August.

The event will take place from August 4-7 at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire.

It is aiming to combine the tradition of the UK’s best county fairs with stars from the popular show.

It is being staged in association with the National Trust and is sponsored by investment management company Quilter Cheviot.

The heart of Countryfile Live will be a live show in the 4,000 capacity Countryfile Live Main Arena. Each show will be a celebration of the best that rural Britain has to offer, focusing on Britain’s love of farming.

Matt Baker, one of the show’s presenters, commented: “We’re opening up Countryfile to the general public and allowing a hands-on experience for all those who watch and love the programme. We hope people will come along and have fun with all the family. It’s a full-on live experience with a bit of a festival vibe.”

Other activities will include a Q&A session with the show’s presenters, a National Trust theatre, and the Village Green, complete with bandstand and traditional maypole.

Presenter Adam Henson will also be bringing Adam’s Farm to Blenheim Palace, giving the public the chance to meet some rare breeds, farm livestock and animals they have seen on screen.

In addition, Countryfile Live will also play host to over 500 exhibitors, from independent food and craft producers to major luxury brands.

Stephen Davies, director of live events at BBC Worldwide, said: “Bringing Countryfile to the public in this unique way is something that we’ve wanted to do for ages – we are really excited about bringing fans even closer to one of the most loved shows on the BBC – a cornucopia of countryside related content which we can’t wait for the audience to explore at close quarters.”
