Doctor Who, Sherlock and Top Gear all lining up at Licensing Expo.
BBC Worldwide is readying a heavyweight line-up for its Licensing Expo slate – with big hitting brands Doctor Who, Sherlock and Top Gear all appearing.
The company will arrive at the Mandalay Bay following the news of the latest companion to join the Doctor, Pearl Mackie.
Key products for the brand include the Twelfth Doctor’s Second Sonic Screwdriver from Character Options, which made its debut in season nine.
A key partner for Doctor Who in the US, is retailer Hot Topic. The 2015 Hot Topic pop culture collaboration was a limited-edition fashion collection inspired by the show. The nine-piece collection launched in 680 Hot Topic stores across the US along with its online store and Torrid last December and featured a line-up of dresses, knits and outerwear.
BBC Worldwide will also be focusing on the new-look Top Gear, following the launch of the new series last month.
For the US, key licensees include sunglasses from Eagle Eyes and first aid kits and roadside emergency kits from DC Safety.
Sherlock has also made its mark in US pop-culture, being one of only three British TV shows that have appeared on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.
Key lines include t-shirts, hoodies, and dresses from Isaac Morris; vinyl figures, bobbleheads, and keychains from Funko; Funko Playmobil; bags and accessories from Bioworld; and vinyl figures from Titan.
In addition, BBC Worldwide will be highlighting preschool brand Hey Duggee, which is due to air on Nickelodeon in the US this summer.
