New activewear capsule collection for 4-14 year olds girls to launch for spring/summer 2017.
Mattel’s Barbie brand is continuing to secure key fashion partnerships – with the latest deal being with Italian fashion brand MGSM Kids for a new activewear capsule collection for girls.
The range is aimed at four to 14 year olds and will be available internationally from spring/summer 2017.
It has taken inspiration from the MGSM women’s collection and mixes activewear and streetwear styles, with bold branding, bright colours and eclectic prints.
The debut collection – which was unveiled at international fashion fair Pitti Imagine Bimbo on June 23 – features silver, pink, black grey and white in MSGM climate fabric, as well as the brand’s signature net, lycra, sweater and jersey details.
There will be 30 pieces in the full collection.
“We are delighted with our collaboration with MSGM, the capsule collection combines the freshness and style of both brands in a contemporary way,” said Leonora Aixas, head of soft lines at Mattel Consumer Products.
Massimo Giorgetti, creative director of MSGM, added: “The Barbie by MSGM Kids girl is cool, current and vibrant, looking to make a statement and stand out from the crowd.
“We wanted to bring those aspects to life through the collection and infuse action with style in the summer 2017 capsule collection.”
