Banijay’s Simon’s Cat heads free to play with Tactile Games

Banijay Rights has teamed up with UK-based developer Tactile Games for the launch of a new free to play Match-3 video puzzle game for the Simon’s Cat brand.

Available worldwide on iOS, Android and FireOS operating systems, Simon’s Cat Match adopts the classic ‘Match-3’ concept that sees players move a series of tiles around an online puzzle board with one end goal: to make them disappear.

Featuring Simon’s Cat animations and playful characters, users of the F2P game can earn online currency as they unlock thousands of levels, unveil hidden objects, engage in garden battles, decorate cat-themed areas and take part in daily competitions; all set in a uniquely crafted Simon’s Cat-animated world.

Developed by Tactile Games as part of its ongoing licensing relationship with Banijay Rights, Simon’s Cat Match provides a fully localised gaming experience in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish languages. Licensed by Banijay Rights, this marks the latest Simon’s Cat online game and follows Simon’s Cat – Crunch Time, Simon’s Cat – Pop Time and Simon’s Cat – Story Time.

“Simon’s Cat is nothing short of a global animation sensation, so to secure another gaming dimension to Simon Tofield’s much-loved creation marks yet another significant licensing moment for us at Banijay Rights,” commented Mark Woollard, svp gaming and gambling at Banijay Rights. “We’re in no doubt players of the game will have an evolving and engaging experience for years to come.”

Asbjoern Malte Soendergaard, ceo at Tactile Games, added: I’m thrilled to see Simon’s Cat Match released to the world, offering fans a fresh and playful gaming experience. We’ve collaborated closely with Simon to bring his beloved IP to life in an exciting new way – one that captures the cheeky charm of Simon’s Cat while delivering a fun and engaging experience for our players, which is at the heart of everything we do at Tactile.”
