Brand enjoyed a strong 2016, moving up to number four in NPD’s Action Figures chart.
Bandai is aiming to further build on a strong 2016 for the Power Rangers brand, as the new movie readies for launch in March and its classic action figure line continues to perform well.
The company saw Power Rangers climb from being the number nine property in the NPD Action Figures category in January 2016 to the number four spot at the end of the year.
Notably sales were up 57% compared to 2015.
The brand’s success is partly attributed to the strength of the content, with Dino Super Charge named as the top performing show of 2016 on Freeview channel POP.
The success was further underlined by Bandai winning Action Figures Range of the Year at last week’s Toy Industry Awards.
Power Rangers product manager, Tess Parsons-Broome, said: “The Bandai UK team are absolutely thrilled to have won the award and thank the panel for voting for us.
“This is the first Power Rangers win at the awards since 2005 which truly reflects the brand’s ability to stay fresh and relevant 12 years on.
“2016 was a fantastic year for us and 2017 is already shaping up to be even bigger and better, with the movie release in March and the all-new Ninja Steel show and toy range launching this summer.”
