Backing the B&LLAs ’17: House Beautiful & Country Living

‘Visibility is key to a brand’s success’ says Hearst Magazines UK’s licensing manager.

Hearst Magazines UK’s licensing manager has told The Source that it was a natural step to bring its brands to life through licensed ranges.

Josie Lahey-James explained that all the products it licences and the partners it works with all endorse Hearst Magazines UK’s central values.

House Beautiful and Country Living Magazine are sponsoring Best Brand Licensed Gifting Product or Range at this year’s Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards.

Josie commented: “Hearst Magazines UK owns the homes market: Country Living magazine is the biggest selling homes title in the UK and House Beautiful sits at number three.

“It was such a natural step to build on the trust in our brands and bring them to life through our licensed ranges. The products we licence and the partners we work with all endorse our central values.”

Josie continued: “In Country Living’s case, craftsmanship, heritage, provenance and aesthetic are all core; from our handmade to order Country Living sofas to our stunning stationery, licensing has enabled us to engage with our audience in new ways.

“And for House Beautiful our product ranges and collaborations are built on practicality, functionality and style; from our beautiful easy clean carpets, to our stunning modular sofas with hidden storage.”

When it comes to lending its support to the B&LLAs, Josie believes that having prestigious recognition for creative growth in new areas of licensing makes it all the more worthwhile.

“They are a fantastic celebration of achievements in the industry and a great networking opportunity,” she said. “Visibility is key to a brands’ success, so raising awareness within the industry at awards like these is crucial.”

The Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards takes place at The Dorchester, Park Lane on Thursday, April 27.

Other partners on board include headline sponsor Brand Licensing Europe, LIMA, TLC, CPLG, Beanstalk, Start Licensing, Golden Goose, Pink Key Consulting, TLP, Happy Jackson, Octane 5, Brandgenuity Europe, The Smiley Company, PowerStation Studios, Corsair, Autumn Fair, Select Licensing and Monty Bojangles.
