Atari partners with ThumbsUp for retro-inspired range

Classic video games brand, Atari has partnered with gifting specialist ThumbsUp to launch a range of retro-inspired products that play homage to Atari’s place in gaming history.

The partnership was brokered by Atari’s global licensing agency Tinderbox, the specialist digital division of Beanstalk.

The ThumbsUp collection delivers a fresh perspective on Atari and its portfolio of universally recognised games – inviting retro gaming fans to experience the brand with unique, one-of-a-kind products including a mini arcade, wall art and drinking accessories.

The Atari playable Cartridge Keyring, a 2” mini arcade with a colour LCD screen, is a nostalgic journey through gaming history with three of the most cherished Atari games: Pong, Asteroids and Missile Command. The collection of 3D wall art aims to capture the essence of gaming history; the decanter set and standalone decanter is inspired by the Atari CX-10 Joystick; while the Atari beer glass features the fuji logo.

“Our partnership with Atari is a fantastic addition to our growing license portfolio,” commented Tanya Dervish, head of licensing at Santok. “We have developed a fun and innovative range of products that really resonate with the Atari consumer, both new and old, and are so proud of what we have been able to achieve. It has been a pleasure working with Atari, finding a partner that is as passionate about the range as we are. We are very excited about continuing to develop our Atari collection and seeing it in
retail.”

Casandra Brown, senior director of licensing at Atari, continued: “ThumbsUp manages to do something special with the Atari band, which is deliver on our fan’s expectations of high quality while introducing delightfully unexpected products. Atari fans are in for a fun holiday this year.”
