Art + Science readies Kazoops licensing push

Company creating UK merchandising programme for new animated series.

Art + Science International has been appointed to create a UK merchandising programme for new animation, Kazoops.

The Cheeky Little Media show is aimed at three to seven year olds, and follows the adventures of Monty and his pet pig, Jimmy Jones.

Monty uses his imagination to question preconceptions such as ‘you have to wear matching socks’ and, in doing so, the characters demonstrate the value of childhood wonder and creative thinking. A unique element of the show is the use of music, with each episode having its own individual two minute song.

The first licensing partners will be announced shortly.

Patrick Egerton, executive producer at Cheeky Little Media, commented: “We are delighted to be working with the team from Art and Science in creating a full licensing programme for Kazoops.

“This is a very special property and we aim to recreate the magic that comes with every episode as Monty and Jimmy explore the world around them and challenge rules and preconceptions of everyday life using the power of their own imaginations.”

Nicola Webster, Art and Science’s licensing director, added: “Kazoops brings with it a whole new option for 3 to 7 year old merchandise. This property has a unique musical element and whimsical imaginative content that children of this age will identify with.

“To go with it is beautiful CGI imagery that pays homage to traditional Clay Animation and really brings the modern day heroes of Monty and Jimmy Jones to life. We very much look forward to introducing this delightful property to our licence partners in the coming weeks and months.”
