Amscan tips Dr. Seuss for World Book Day

Dress-up licensee predicting characters from franchise will be particularly popular this year.

Amscan is looking forward to World Book Day – which is taking place next Thursday, March 7 – predicting that Dr. Seuss characters will be particularly popular this year.

“Our classic character styles, such as Mad Hatters, classic Red Riding Hood and Alice are all performing well,” said Sam Taylor, Amscan’s dress-up category manager, “as are our licensed lines such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Elmer the Elephant.”

“Our new range of Dr Suess costumes and accessories – in particular Cat in the Hat – is also starting to trend highly,” continued Sam. “We expect the whole Dr Suess range, which also includes Thing 1 and Thing 2 as well as everybody’s favourite, The Grinch.”

Charlotte Terry, Amscan’s marketing executive, agreed:. “Book Week is a key event in the calendar for the dress-up category and licensed characters are also particularly popular. We are excited to have the new Dr. Seuss styles joining the collection for 2019, with costumes and accessory sets offering a range of options.”

“We also offer a wide range of styles covering main children’s themes from careers to fairy-tale and storybook and of course animals,” Charlotte continued. “Historical options are also popular year-on-year and we have added a number of new styles which are all set to be popular this year.”
