Amazon.co.uk names its bestsellers of 2019

Retailer also reveals nation’s favourite Christmas presents including L.O.L. Surprise, FIFA 20 and Harry Potter Dobble.

Amazon.co.uk has revealed some of the bestselling products of 2019, with a number of licensed names appearing.

In addition, it has also named the nation’s favourite Christmas presents in the run up to the big day, including the L.O.L. Surprise 2-in-1 Glamper.

2019 has been a popular year for non-fiction books with Hinch Yourself Happy by Mrs Hinch, while the highly anticipated sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale – The Testaments by Margaret Atwood – also featured in the list of most popular books.

TV boxsets – including Killing Eve – plus gaming franchise favourites, FIFA and Super Mario Bros. also proved popular, with FIFA 20, Super Smash Bros: Ultimate and Super Mario Odyssey all featuring in the bestsellers listing.

Meanwhile, the L.O.L. Surprise 2-in-1 Glamper, Asmodee’s Harry Potter Dobble and Disney’s The Lion King are all included in the list of 2019 Christmas top sellers.

“We are seeing customers opt for a mix of traditional and not-so traditional items this Christmas,” said James Bate, director, UK retail consumables at Amazon.co.uk. “Classic gift ideas such as the Guinness World Records book are joined by the quirkier Ilchester Cheese Advent Calendar and our own devices continue to be popular including the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote.

“Gift sets have been snapped up, especially the Hotel Chocolat Christmas Box and the Yankee Candle Gift Set, whilst kids will love playing with the L.O.L Surprise! Glamper and Harry Potter Dobble toys.”

Meanwhile, Amazon’s annual Best of Prime 2019 list includes the Sony PlayStation Classic console, LEGO Harry Potter Knight Bus, plus the classic Monopoly and Scrabble board games.
