Adventure Time heading out on retail tour

Interactive gaming experience to go on five-week shopping centre tour from June 11.

Cartoon Network UK is taking its Adventure Time brand on the road – with a new interactive gaming experience heading out on a five-week shopping centre tour from this weekend.

An Ooo Experience will give fans the chance to jump into the Land of Ooo and play alongside the characters as they battle to save Candy Kingdom from the Nightosphere.

Developed by Hellicar&Lewis, An Ooo Experience will place players in front of a giant LED screen. Motion sensors allow them to interact and play with the characters.

Guided by a real life Wizard of Ooo, players will be taken on a journey through the Candy Kingdom.

Along the way, they will transform into life-size versions of characters Finn, Jake, Marceline or Princess Bubblegum.

An Ooo Experience kicks off at Intu Merry Hill (West Midlands) on June 11-12, and will then visit Intu Lakeside (June 18-19), Manchester Arndale (June 25-26), Intu Metrocentre (July 2-3) and Intu Braehead (July 9-10).

Richard Kinning, UK creative director at Turner, said: “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Hellicar&Lewis to launch Adventure Time’s first-ever live interactive experience.

“This game was inspired by our massive fanbase for the show; we wanted to offer them a unique Adventure Time experience like never before. ‘An Ooo Experience’ offers players a mix of theatre, character interaction and the opportunity to explore and immerse themselves in the Land of Ooo.

“We hope it attracts both existing fans and also new ones who just fall in love with the characters like we have.”
