AC Worldwide secures Halo licence

Company to develop speakers based on characters and elements from video game universe.

AC Worldwide has added to its licensed line-up, securing a licensing deal to design and manufacture Bluetooth speakers using the characters and elements from the Halo video games universe.

Product development has already begun, with initial designs expected to be available from August.

The deal covers the US, Canada and Europe.

ACW is already riding high following widespread praise for its first products, the Star Wars speakers which hit retail earlier this year.

The ACW Halo speakers will boast superior sound quality, deploying a full 2.1 system audio including two tweeters along with a down-facing ported subwoofer to deliver ground-shaking bass. Additionally, the USB charging port can be utilised to power phones, audio devices or even to charge or power console controllers.

AC Worldwide founding partner, Kelvyn Gardner explained: “We have been delighted by press, trade and consumer response to our debut just this year in the marketplace.

“Our mission is already clear: to bring high-quality audio into consumers’ homes in a format to surprise and delight. Halo is a natural fit, one of the biggest video game franchises of all time with a worldwide dedicated fan-base and iconic sci-fi characters and environments.

“We’d like to thank the team at 343 Industries for their incredible enthusiasm for our product range, which has enabled our young company to partner across the world with this truly iconic brand.”

John Friend, head of Halo consumer products, added: “We’re huge fans of AC Worldwide and the great high-fidelity audio products that they create.

“They’re combining some of the most beloved Halo characters with uncompromising sound quality, and we can’t wait for fans to see and hear more about the Halo-themed speakers this fall.”
