Abbey Home Media boosted by DHX Media deal

Company secures UK home entertainment licence for Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam.

Abbey Home Media has inked a new deal with DHX Media for the UK home entertainment licence for Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam.

Under the deal, the children’s producer and distributor will release four DVD titles this year including two, hour-long specials: Bob the Builder: Mega Machines – The Movie and Fireman Sam: Alien Alert – The Movie.

Emma Evans, acquisitions director at Abbey Home Media, commented: “We are delighted that DHX Media have appointed Abbey Home Media as their UK home entertainment partner for selected episodes from the Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam series, as well as the feature-length movies.

“These are both evergreen stand-out brands and a great addition to our portfolio of titles.”

Two episodic releases, Bob the Builder – Dig This and Fireman Sam – Sam’s Birthday will be the first titles to be released under the new DVD partnership and will launch at retail in April.
