Aardman, Magic Light win at British Animation Awards

Shaun the Sheep: The Movie and Stick Man among the big winners.

Aardman Animations and Magic Light Pictures were two of the companies celebrating last night, with both picking up accolades at the British Animation Awards.

Held at London’s BFI Southbank, the event saw Shaun the Sheep: The Movie scoop Best Long Form. This marks the 20th BAA that Aardman has won over the past two decades.

Meanwhile, Magic Light’s Stick Man was one of only two double winners on the night. The Christmas feature film picked up Best Voice Performance for Martin Freeman and Best Use of Sound.

Another big winner was Turner Broadcasting’s The Amazing World of Gumball. The show picked up Best Children’s Series and the Children’s Choice Award.

Best Preschool Series, meanwhile, was won by Lily’s Driftwood Bay.
