Including One Animation securing a major deal with Argos for its CG animated property, Oddbods.

Source rounds up more news from the licensing industry across the globe from the week.

One Animation has secured a new deal with Argos for its CG animated property, Oddbods. Starting this month, an exclusive range of Oddbods merchandise spanning plush, apparel and dress-up will be launched at Argos and Sainsbury’s stores and online. The phased Oddbods range roll out will be kicked off with the launch of Pogo and Fuse plush from Posh Paws. This will be followed by kids’ pyjamas from Misirli, featuring all the Oddbods characters and Pogo and Fuse dress-up costumes from Rubies by October. One Animation will support the partnership with a social media and influencer campaign.

Zavvi is launching an exclusive limited edition Pokémon Explorer clothing collection. As an ode to Pokémon GO’s enduring effect, the Zavvi Pokémon Explorer range is designed for avid wanderers and perfect for trainers setting off into the wildlands of their region to find coveted Pokémon. It draws inspiration from the outdoors, combining natural, earthy tones with utility-themed garments featuring the characters. Items include t-shirts, hoodies, a military style jacket, as well as accessories.

Reemsborko has been named the licensing agent across all categories and territories for Trese, the bestselling graphic novel series from Ablaze Publishing. A number of licensees are already on board including Bioworld, Goodie Two Sleeves, Pyramid America, Great Eastern Entertainment, IndieGo Distribution and Bedrock Collectables.

The Smiley Movement is looking to recognise organisations which invest their time and resources into creating a positive impact in the world, confirming that the Corporate Cause category at the Charity Film Awards is now open for entries. The category is open to all film and video projects by brands and corporations. To enter, the film or advert must have been broadcast to the public in the past 18 months. Any film entered must promote a cause, issue or societal agenda, beyond pure commercial objectives, and subjects may reflect the environment, diversity and inclusion, health and wellbeing, social justice or wider civic responsibility.

Rollacrit and Asmodee Entertainment have agreed a licensing partnership to further extend CATAN as a lifestyle brand, with a range of apparel, accessories, collectables and homewares.
