MGM‘s licensing and consumer products division has unveiled its Legally Blonde turns 21 initiative, commemorating the film’s 21st anniversary in 2022. MGM is currently building out a broad campaign with merchandising and interactive entertainment featuring the movie’s key tenets – empowerment, education, humour and, of course, pink fashion. There are already 21 licensees on board across the US, Europe, Brazil, Mexico and Chile for apparel, accessories, collectables and interactive entertainment among other categories. Some of the licensees joining the celebrations include Park Agencies, Poetic Brands, Olympia Le Tan, Solent Brands, Funko and TCG Entertainment.

The Starship Enterprise is bridging time and space to be released as a Playmobil model for the first time. The collaboration between the toy company and ViacomCBS will launch worldwide on 8 September. Lights, sounds and other technical features are included alongside a unique AR tie-in app which will help expand the Star Trek experience beyond the physical product. The ship comes with a total of seven crew members from the original cast, all fitting into their traditional places on the bridge. Mr Spock will be the first figure in Playmobil history – dating all the way back to 1974 – to have (Vulcan) ears.

Spin Master has revealed that its Bakugan franchise will be the first ever to premiere a full length episode on the Roblox platform. Debuting on 8 September, episode 317 from season three – Bakugan: Geogan Rising – will debut within the Bakugan hub on the platform.

GQ Bar Bodrum has opened its doors for guests in a further extension of the men’s lifestyle media brand. In addition, it is the first kids channel on YouTube in India to garner 50 million subscribers.
