The Rolling Stones reveal ‘Made in Britain’ collaborations

The band has confirmed an exclusive series of collaborations between five iconic British heritage brands and the RS No.9 Carnaby lifestyle brand.

The Rolling Stones have revealed an exclusive series of collaborations between five iconic British heritage brands and the RS No.9 Carnaby lifestyle brand.

The ‘Made in Britain’ collaboration series includes collections with Kirk Originals, Johnstons of Elgin, Tricker’s Shoes, Lewis Leathers and The Great Frog.

The first in the series of the collaborations will be Kirk Originals, launching on Friday 27 August. It will comprise two styles of limited edition sunglasses ‘Aftermath’ and ‘Black and Blue’, both inspired by iconic Stones albums. All Kirk Originals sunglasses are handmade in England.

Aftermath is inspired by the rapidly shifting styles and energies of London in the 1960’s and is a ‘bold and arrogant’ rectangular shape in a piano black with sharply angled details across the browline and temple lugs. Meanwhile, Black and Blue is an oversized rectangular aviator inspired by the louche stylings of the early 1970’s.

“When we were approached to create a suite of frames for The Rolling Stones RS No.9 Carnaby Street, we knew that there could be no greater opportunity than this to marry the Kirk Originals approach to eyewear with the spirit and aesthetic of a London rock n roll legend,” explained Mark Brown, creative director at Kirk Originals. “The result of our collaboration is a suite of two frames, designed to appeal to bold and confident characters.

“Timeless silhouettes, referencing exciting moments in time when rock n roll style and attitude was central to London culture but brought up to date through the use of contemporary materials and sleek fabrication.”

David Boyne, md at Bravado, added: “We are excited to be collaborating with these heritage brands, showcasing the best Britain has to offer, with a nod to the individual styles of the Rolling Stones band members themselves – this marks the coming together of iconic British brands.”

Following the launch of the Kirk Originals eyewear collection will be a collaboration with heritage knitwear brand Johnstons of Elgin – three limited edition pieces will arrive in October.

December, meanwhile, will see the launch of a collection with Royal Warrant holder Tricker’s Shoes. In early 2022, fans should look out for an iconic jacket collection with leather brand Lewis Leathers, and a statement jewellery collection with renowned jewellery brand The Great Frog.

The collaborations will be exclusive, limited edition and only available to purchase for a limited time.
