Vans and Discovery partner on footwear and apparel

The new line will benefit Project CAT and has been timed to coincide with Global Tiger Day on 29 July.

The Vans brand has partnered with Discovery on a line of footwear and apparel which is aiming to benefit Project CAT, Discovery’s effort to join the mission to double the world’s wild tiger population.

Timed to Global Tiger Day on 29 July, the tiger-inspired collection of footwear, apparel and accessories will include items for adults, kids and toddlers.

The hero style in the collection is the ComfyCush Sk8-Hi which features a photoreal print of two tigers on the quarter panel. The shoes’ black and white typographic laces read ‘Protect Tigers’, while black stitching evokes Vans’ iconic Sidestripe.

The wild tiger also takes over the Slip-On for kids and toddlers – using a fuzzy upper, the features of the tiger are embroidered and printed across the upper and toe bumper. The Slip-On is completed with fuzzy ears and ‘Protect Tiger’ messaging across the heel counters.

Rounding out the collection is an apparel and accessories offering for children which includes a recycled cotton blend tees, a Vans x Project CAT pullover with printed logos on the chest and back and a backpack.

Vans and Discovery will also donate $20,000 to help support Project CAT’s mission to conserve acres and ensure a healthy habitat for tigers, as well as other endangered species, well into the future.

“Project CAT, launched in 2016, is committed to conserving the world’s wild tiger population and actively seeks out collaborations with brands like Vans that share our mission, extending opportunities for consumers to show their stripes while helping our planet,” said Jessica Beatus, gvp standards and social good at Discovery, Inc. “Discovery’s passionate fans have also always acted as partners in this cause, and we are thrilled to give them a stylish way to support Project CAT through this line of Vans footwear and apparel.”
