Final Fantasy IX to be made into an animated series

Cyber Group Studios secures option with Square Enix for a new adaptation of the video game classic.

Cyber Group Studios has secured an exclusive option agreement with Square Enix for an adaptation of Final Fantasy IX into an animated series for the first time.

The company will produce the series in its studios in Paris and Roubaix, and will also be in charge of the worldwide distribution, along with the merchandise and licensing activities.

Based on Final Fantasy IX, the adventure animation will primarily be aimed at 8-13 year olds and family audiences with respect to co-viewing. the adaptation will aim to maintain the world of the game under the supervision of Square Enix, while incorporating some additional production and entertainment values.
