Macmillan Children’s Books has revealed a new clothing range for Tesco, celebrating Rod Campbell’s Dear Zoo. Following the sales success for the first Dear Zoo apparel range across Tesco sales in 2020, a new range of baby clothing has been developed by Paul Dennicci for F&F. The collection is made up of six garments for babies aged 0-24 months including a sleepsuit, sleeping bag, pyjama sets, vests and bibs. The new designs introduce two new colours to the Dear Zoo palette. A large social media influencer campaign accompanies the launch and will showcase sample outfits and books to over 350k consumers.

Trese, the hit comic from Ablaze Publishing, is now being represented globally in all categories for merchandising by Reemsborko. Trese is set in Manila and so far seven volumes of the comic have been released in the Philippines and are being steadily republished worldwide by Ablaze. Clothing is about to appear in the US courtesy of two apparel licensees, while the category is also in discussion in Europe. The debut of an animated version on Netflix later this year should also raised awareness and popularity.

Pop culture specialist, Fanattik has secured a gift licence with Hasbro for Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.

Edutainment Licensing has appointed Little Dot Studios for the distribution of the NSPCC’s Pantosaurus animated video on YouTube. The NSPCC worked with Aardman to create the Pants song and video. It features Pantosaurus, a bright yellow friendly dinosaur, and his family and friends, with the lyrics of the song conveying an important message.

Global Merchandising Services has appointed Adam N Sokoloff as vp of retail, North America. Adam has joined the company from Bioworld, where he spent the past 11 years, most recently as director of sales.

Animaccord has secured its first licensing deal for Masha and the Bear in Japan. Publishing house Kodansha will create physical and ebooks featuring original stories based on the preschool series.

Maurizio Distefano Licensing has confirmed the arrival of a new Asterix comic book story for October this year. Asterix and the Griffin will be published by Panini Comics and will arrive on 28 October. The Italian edition of the new comic book is one of 17 different languages in which the story will appear.
