Egmont Books rebrands as Farshore

The rebrand comes almost a year on from joining the HarperCollins family as a standalone children’s division.

Almost one year on from joining the HarperCollins family as a standalone children’s division, Egmont Books has unveiled its new name and logo – Farshore.

Revealed at a live-streamed art installation with East Cliff Creatives, the rebrand aims to reflect the company’s mission to make every child a proud reader through a broad and diverse portfolio of child-friendly books for all ages, and to reach all markets around the world.

The new logo was designed in collaboration with London-based brand One Darnley Road.

As well as authors including Michael Morpurgo and Julia Donaldson, Farshore’s portfolio includes a number of big name characters and brands such as Minecraft, Roblox, Beano, Winnie the Pooh and Mr Men Little Miss.

“Joining HarperCollins has been a fantastic new chapter for our business,” explained Cally Poplak, executive publisher at Farshore. “It has allowed us to strengthen what we already do well as a leading children’s publisher, while expanding growth opportunities through exciting collaborations with our colleagues in the HarperCollins Digital and Audio team, Collins Learning, HarperCollins Children’s Books, in the various Adult divisions, and with our international colleagues around the HarperCollins group.

“For our readers, we want Farshore to open up a world of endless possibilities and fearless adventurers for every child, and we want to continue to be a publishing partner of choice for authors, illustrators, agents and licensors.”

Charlie Redmayne, HarperCollins’ ceo, added: ‘Egmont Books’ wonderful portfolio perfectly complements and enhances our existing children’s publishing, and since their acquisition Cally and her team have been quick to grasp the opportunities that being part of HarperCollins brings.

“Now as Farshore the journey continues, and I am looking forward to seeing the division grow and deliver even greater success for its authors, illustrators and publishing partners.”

The first title to appear under the Farshore rebrand will be Matt Lucas’ The Very Very Very Very Very Very Silly Book of Pranks (1 April).
