H&M scores new collaboration with Héctor Bellerín

Retailer teams with Arsenal and Spain footballer on new sustainably sourced men’s collection.

H&M has teamed up with Spanish international footballer and the vice captain of Arsenal, Héctor Bellerín on a new sustainable men’s collection.

Edition by Héctor Bellerín is entirely made from more sustainable materials, in line with both Héctor’s environmental values and H&M’s own transparent commitment to change.

In the collection, cotton is organic, or recycled from textile production waste; nylons and polyesters are recycled, while viscose fibres are from sustainable sources. Where possible, Héctor was keen for pieces to be made from single materials, to make them easier to recycle.

Héctor was also heavily involved in the design process of the oversized streetwear and utilitarian pieces at each stage, says H&M.

Items include a lightweight grey field parka, a boxy-cut beige blazer, wide cropped pants, knitted shirts, hoodies, tees and a check shopper among others.

“Fashion is like activism, and our clothes can spread a positive message to others,” commented Héctor. “I am happy to collaborate with H&M on this collection entirely made from sustainably sourced materials, and to push for a better future for fashion and the planet.”

Ross Lydon, head of menswear design at H&M, added: “Héctor Bellerín is a leader of the generation that’s redefining men’s style and advocating for positive change. Everyone at H&M is so happy to collaborate with Héctor to create Edition by Héctor Bellerín, a true sustainable collection for men.”

The range will be available on hm.com and in selected stores from February 18.
