Silvergate Media has unveiled the world’s biggest Octonauts attraction at Merlin Entertainment’s Changfeng Ocean World in Shanghai, part of the SEA LIFE global aquarium chain. The experience – which opened to the public last month – is expected to attract visitor numbers of 500,000+ annually. It features a fully submerged Octopod capsule within the new ‘Ray Bay’ experience, with visitors joining characters such as Captain Barnacles to learn about the world’s oceans and help save baby rays. Octonauts merchandise is also available from the on-site shop.
Poetic Brands has teamed up with the National Gallery to create a range of adult apparel and accessories based on its artworks. The collection will incorporate a wide range of products including adult daywear and outerwear, swimwear, flip flops, beach bags and towels, adult nightwear and essentials, plus accessories such as caps and luggage.
Jazwares has promoted Laura Zebersky to the role of president. She was most recently chief commercial officer at the company, overseeing its global licensing, marketing and sales efforts. Meanwhile, Jazwares has also confirmed the promotion of several management executives across the company: Kelly Deen is now svp of marketing, Gerhard Runken has been promoted to svp of brand for Jazwares’ boy brands and Kellytoy brands, while Jonny Taylor is now svp Europe.
Boat Rocker Studios has appointed Denise Gomez as director of licensing for the Americas. The role has been newly created to support and further drive the company’s recent expansion in building global franchise, with Denise reporting to Kate Schlomann, evp of brand management and content marketing.
Mondo TV has sold its new environmentally-themed kids adventure comedy show, MeteoHeroes, to key broadcasters and partners in France and French-speaking countries, along with Turkey, the Baltics and the former Yugoslavia. Deals have been struck with Canal+ (France and French-speaking countries) and Minika Çoçuk (Turkey).
Media tech company, Skoog has secured a global partnership with Sesame Workshop, introducing a new interactive platform which merges tactile technology with an expanding content library featuring Sesame Street characters. The platform combines multi-sensory play with fun, interactive content and meaningful learning experiences.
Animaccord is to deliver Masha and the Bear seasons one to three – as well as spin-offs Masha’s Spooky Stories and Masha’s Tales – on Amazon Prime Video in a number of territories. Prime Video acquired rights on seasons one and two in multiple languages to launch the show across Europe including in Spain, Italy and France. Meanwhile, seasons one to three and Masha’s Tales have launched with local dubbing in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Masha’s Spooky Stories is also available in GAS, while Masha’s Tales will launch shortly in France, Italy and Spain.
