The Doodle Boy – otherwise known as ten year old British artist, Joe Whale – has been given the royal seal of approval, creating a doodle to bring to life the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s train tour.
Prince William and Kate Middleton began their three-day tour on Sunday December 6, leaving from London’s Euston on the royal train.
They are travelling 1,250 miles (abiding by COVID-19 guidance) to visit frontline workers, volunteers, care home staff, teachers, school children and young people in England, Scotland and Wales to hear about their experiences, sacrifices and the inspiring work they have done throughout this challenging year.
They thanked Joe for his artwork interpretation of the train tour on their official Twitter account, as well as sharing the image.
Over the next two days on the #RoyalTrainTour🚂, The Duke and Duchess will meet:

“We are so unbelievably proud of Joe,” Russell Binder, partner at Striker Entertainment told Source. “He is a prime example of everything we all promote to our children… do what makes you happy, bring joy to others when able, and do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.
“To be hand picked by the Duke and Duchess is a testament to the fact that Joe is not just talented, but that he infuses his heart and compassion for others into his work.”
Russell continued: “I have to say that it is also representative of the environment of love and support that Joe’s parents are raising him in alongside his twin brother and younger sister. The future is bright for Joe, and we at Striker are grateful to be working with Joe to help be a catalyst for this dreams.”
Scholastic confirmed in October that it would design and produce a wide range of English language formats for ‘The Doodle Boy’ including chapter books, storybooks, sticker story books, novelty, activity books, ebooks and audio books, beginning to arrive in autumn 2021.
