High hopes for Master Moley as premiere nears

New children’s TV property to debut on Boomerang in over 100 territories on November 28, with CP plans on the agenda.

New children’s animation, Master Moley, is gearing up for its TV debut this weekend – and hopes are high that it can be turned into the next big franchise.

Master Moley was created by James Reatchlous, a British entrepreneur, and it is a based upon an original idea conceived as a bedtime story told to his daughters Hettie and Tattie, which he kept in a series of journals.

The TV special – Master Moley: By Royal Invitation – will premiere in over 100 territories on Boomerang on Saturday November 28. This will be followed by 52 11-minute episodes of The Misadventures of Master Moley, which will be broadcast on Boomerang in the UK and around the world in autumn 2021.

A star-studded voice cast includes Warwick Davis, Julie Walters, Charles Dance, Gemma Arterton, Richard E Grant and Togo Igawa. In addition, James is on the brink of closing a £3 million funding round at a valuation of over £40 million for Master Moley – as reported by The Sunday Times – with investors including Ocado chairman, Lord Stuart Rose.

“The journey of Master Moley has been incredible,” commented James. “It has been a thrill to see the little mole brought to life and watch him entertain a new generation of children in a new way. The special enjoyed success at different short film festivals across the world. We’re now delighted it’s found a home on Boomerang.

“I pinch myself every day because it’s just incredible this is all happening – who would have thought these little stories that I made up on the hoof all those years ago would have such an amazing cast in Warwick Davis, Gemma Arterton, Julie Walters, Richard E. Grant and Charles Dance voicing the characters I created.”

James continued: “I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve been given the gift of bringing all these stories to life, so hopefully millions of children around the world can also be taken on adventures with this charming little mole. That is very special.”
