Hannah Curtis looks to soar with new art agency

Former Bright Agency executive has set up her own art licensing agency, Creative Sparrow.

Art licensing specialist, Hannah Curtis has opened the doors of her new agency – Creative Sparrow – which is now representing a dozen different artists, designers and photographers.

Having worked in the art licensing world for the last 15 years (latterly with Bright and prior to that Image Source), Hannah (pictured) is experienced in both spotting the potential in artists, as well as understanding the aesthetic needs of greeting card publishers and other companies looking for suitable artwork that will chime with the tastes of the buying public.

Hannah found the inspiration for the company name very close to home. “I have always loved birds, but this summer I was really drawn to watching the sparrows in my garden,” she told sister site PG Buzz, with her own drawing of the bird forming part of the logo.

“The sparrow’s values of joy and protection, simplicity and community are at the heart of our creative management.”

The artists in Creative Sparrow’s inaugural portfolio are a mix of designers who have experience of the greeting card world, as well as some who are totally new to the sector.

Hannah is “overwhelmed and delighted” by the response she has received to the launch of Creative Sparrow.

“The knock-on effect after lockdown is evident, but generally morale in the industry is good and it feels as though new product is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Publishers are keen to launch new ranges at the usual times that would normally coincide with the trade shows and I’m so happy to be working with our talented creatives to develop new ideas and styles.”

While Hannah will front Creative Sparrow, her business partner, Judith Luddington is to oversee the commercial and operational aspects.
