Primark, John Lewis and Sara Miller celebrate B&LLAs success

Trio of Retail and Property award winners share their joy at picking up accolades.

The winners of this year’s Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards are continuing with their celebrations, with key Retail and Property victors sharing their joy with LicensingSource.net today (November 11).

Primark – which was awarded Best High Street Fashion Retailer Brand Licensed Execution – said it was a “fantastic achievement” to be recognised at Monday evening’s awards.

“Primark are truly honoured to win this award,” the retailer’s Sarah Jackson told Source. “It is a fantastic achievement to be recognised as the leading fashion brand in the Retail category. The passion and energy of the product, marketing and retail teams at Primark is second to none. This success is also achieved with our strong partnerships with our licensors and suppliers – a huge thank you to everyone involved.”

Meanwhile, Sara Allbright, partner and buyer, gifts and candleshop at John Lewis & Partners, commented: “At JL we really feel that great licensed partnerships are key to our success and product ranges and have seen some great new projects come to fruition in the last year – from the launch of a major collaboration with Orla Kiely to seeing the success of new emerging talent like Eleanor Bowmer having great cut through.

“Getting the Bella is a great seal of approval from the wider industry that we are doing it right and pushes us on to find the next great brand.”

The retailer picked up Best Department Store or Mixed Retailer Brand Licensed Execution.

Outside of the Retail categories, Sara Miller was another big winner on the night – Sara picked up Best Licensed Fashion or Talent Brand, while Heathcote & Ivory was awarded Best Brand Licensed Health and Beauty Product or Range for its Sara Miller London Tahiti Collection.

Sara told Source: “Stunned, overwhelmed and totally honoured to have won Best Beauty Range and Best Fashion or Talent Brand. The sheer talent in these categories says it all and I am so humbled to be featured alongside such great company.

“After such a challenging year this is a wonderful boost for myself and the rest of the team. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us and an extra special thanks to Max Publishing for putting on a great night.”

Denis Aaronson, md of Heathcote & Ivory, added: “We are delighted to win this award for our Sara Miller London Tahiti Collection. It is an honour to work with the exceptionally talented artist and entrepreneur and winning this hugely prestigious accolade is the icing on the cake.”
