Perry Ellis International launches heritage brand Farah in Japan

Licensing agreement secured with Itochu Corporation to build up brand’s identity in the territory.

Perry Ellis International has expanded its premium heritage brand, Farah, in Japan, securing a deal with Itochu Corporation.

Itochu has launched its first AW20 Farah collection of utilitarian workwear and will continue to build upon the brand’s identity – which has a history stretching back to 1920. The company will aim to offer a fresh outlook while also paying homage to the brand’s heritage.

Items in the new range include various styles of trousers in both hopsack and twill weaves, plus jackets, a Texan-inspired shoelace shirt and corduroy over shirt.

Colours remain true to the classic autumnal palette ranging from khaki, camel and brown to grey and navy. Brighter colours can also be seen in the casual pieces such as pink and yellow t-shirts and hoodies.

“As we celebrate our centennial anniversary, we are very excited to announce this collaboration with a powerful, global partner like Itochu,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, ceo and president at Perry Ellis International. “This agreement complements our work together across other brands and markets.”
