Black Lives Matter licensing action grows

Licensing drive for the movement officially launched on the global stage during London Fashion Week.

London Entertainment Inc is continuing to drive the Black Lives Matter movement licensing programme forward.

A dedicated website has been set up – which can be found by clicking here – and Black Lives Matter Licensing is now officially collaborating with Black Lives Matter.UK with the aim to enhance the movement and make positive systematic changes to improve equality and inclusiveness of black communities.

The licensing drive for Black Lives Matter officially launched on the global stage during London Fashion Week.

Designer Samira Ebrahimi, who is known for her work with Gary James McQueen – the nephew of the late iconic British fashion designer, Lee Alexander McQueen – launched a BLM collection in collaboration with R&B music artist, MJR, during her show on September 20.

The collection focuses on the limited edition Black Lives Matter Plaza design, which is the high fashion luxury hero product of the BLM licensing programme. You can check out the video on the collaboration below.

In addition, the team is also working with The Light Fund on setting up a funding solution for Black Lives Matter which will be announced in due course.

Saphia Maxamed, founder of London Entertainment Inc, has pledged to “follow every opportunity with retailers and help licensees secure listings”.

Saphia urged: “We are at the beginning of the programme and we need the industry’s support to move forward. We are putting together a strong foundation that could lead to a real positive change.”
